So I had this video for a while and was ready to blast it until Universal asked me to hold back since MySpace music featured it today. Ah, the politics of exclusive content! In any case, Here it is, the Anthony Mandler directed visual interpretation of “You’re Not My Girl”:

I’m currently at the “Burning Man” festival in Nevada so I have limited internet here in the desert. In the meantime, pass the video on and feel free to ask anything you’d like to know regarding styling location, the girls, etc. and I’ll respond in the comments later.

    Ima be honest. Didn’t really like the video. I think this song could have been portrayed much better through a video than it was in this one. The song is great obviously, but the song tells a story and I feel like the video didn’t tell a story. Just my opinion. However the visual effects were nice.

    I have to co-sign with Kassim.. to me, the video is lifeless and makes the song less good. The song has a cool story, but this video is just a posing/performance video. It doesn’t scream “Watch me again!!!” and well… I have only seen it 1 time.
    But there is another video by Armen Expo, which gives me some hope. I usually like your 2nd videos better… Addiction stalker vid and HIWSTB military video.

    I also have to say something else: Noone cares for Myspace these days. It’s all about Twitter. So waiting with the vid so long (2 months after the leak!!) is a promo fail in my opinion. It should go:
    Leak on Twitter -> 1 day later iTunes add -> 3-5 days later video premiere.

    If you continue this way, you might never get the hit you want, even if the music is awesome. You have to promote it right.

    The lighting and effects are cool, but I guess videos that follow a story line are not the thing now-a-days.

    No one uses MySpace…I never had a myspace acct. Facebook and Twitter are certainly a great way to reach out.
