Love In Central Park
I’ll never forget the day that I first played “Nothing” for my sister, Joy. She had stopped by my brownstone in Harlem and she immediately responded to the record by saying, “That’s a great summer song – I can already hear it playing in the Park.” Consistent with her premonition, I knew that I had to play that song live when the got the news from Ed Woods that this Summer Stage gig was confirmed:
Central Park is an amazing venue. There were more than 5,000 people who actually made it into the performance area and another few thousand that were turned away. On my way into the park, I stopped for a small group that had been denied access, just to reach out to them and let them know I appreciate their continued support. As I hit the stage, I noticed an especially excited cheering squad in the front row, and had the honor of catching up with them (Chantel, Makila, Ayeshia, and Treminka) after the show. They were kind enough to share their responses to the performance. Thank you all for expecting greatness from me. I give you my word that I will always give everything I can possibly give…and thank you Joy for speaking this into existence!

Eh man….this was my first time to actually see u live and man what an experience….during your performance i was on stage rocking out behind the band going nuts cause i never seen somebody bring as much energy to the stage as u did man….I will never forget this experience and i hope that i get more chances like the one i had many many times in the future. Now I see that your Twitter is over the 100,000 mark and think about a conversation that I had with some friends about the next ‘IT’ artist.(that was you) I am not trying to knock hip-hop, but right now it’s BORING! Ok, I have to be honest with you, I was sleeping on you big time..I had heard “Addicted” and liked the song alot but wasn’t moved just yet…but MY MOTHER is a DIE HARD FAN and insisted that I MUST hear the album…so when we heard about you and Jazmine Sullivan being on the same stage in Central Park of course we had to go…Well needless to say …I am converted…and I apologize deeply for resting on you! I must say that I was one of the few thousands who never even made it to the main area for the performances…but I was content sitting under a tree in the grass with my friends, just knowing that you were there! =] hahaha
Hi Ryan. Wow, I just learned of you on Mo’Nique! What an awesome presence you have; true gifts from God are your several talents! Ryan, Ryan how can I find you? I find that I am much like yourself and, like you, have it all spewing from my cranial nerve endings! I’m an inventor, business owner, educated in engineering, play piano, write music, songs, fiction and nonfiction scripts, sing gospel, and speak arabic! And it all “keeps coming”. HELP!
Just need a friend. But also (and you know how we do) want to know who to pass my gospel demo on to. I went out recently, purchased my own home studio gear (8 track, key board, mic…and uhmm, well, I make my own percussion beats with my voice..hahaha) and recorded a few of my 17 or so gospel Hiz ITsss (because, priase God, they bangin’), okay, so I’m just trying to get them out there. 
It’s just awesome talking with you anyway. Sorry for this long-winded blog. I felt I knew you when I saw you there on the set. (Searched for you on YouTube when Mo’Nique said your name, then immediately came here when you gave your site via a radio interview.)
